What is the plot of Gadar - Ek Prem Katha movie?
The plot of Gadar - Ek Prem Katha movie is as follows:
During the Partition of India in 1947, Sikhs and Hindus are attacked by Muslims in Pakistan when migrating to India by train from the railway station at West Punjab in Pakistan. In response, the Sikhs and Hindus reply by killing Muslims migrating to Pakistan from East Punjab in India.
During the Hindu-Muslim riots that erupted soon after the partition, Tara Singh, a truck driver, also plans to kill Muslims, but stops after recognising his college friend Sakina from the little Taj Mahal antique in her hands. Tara saves and protects her from the mob chasing her because she failed to get onto the train with her family members after being lost in the crowd. As the mob attempts to kill her brutally, Tara Singh defends Sakina by applying blood (implying Sindoor) to her forehead to make her as his Sikh wife. While driving back to their house, Tara and Sakina remember their college days.
Tara and Sakina fall in love and get married, despite the objections of Tara's family and the community. They have a son named Charanjeet. However, Sakina's father, Ashraf Ali, a prominent politician in Pakistan, does not know about her marriage and believes that she is still in Lahore. He sends a letter to Sakina asking her to come back to Pakistan.
Tara reluctantly agrees to let Sakina go to Pakistan with their son, hoping that she will return soon. However, when Sakina reaches Lahore, she is forced by her father to marry a Pakistani man named Faizal. Tara learns about this and decides to go to Pakistan to bring back his wife and son.
Tara faces many obstacles and dangers in Pakistan, but manages to reach Sakina's house with the help of some sympathetic Pakistanis. He confronts Ashraf Ali and Faizal and fights them. He also proves that he is Sakina's husband by showing the little Taj Mahal antique that she had given him as a token of love. Sakina chooses Tara over Faizal and decides to go back to India with him and their son.
